COMMUNITY ECO-CHALLENGE
The Community Eco-Challenge is a pilot project for Northern Ireland. It will help 5 local community groups (100 households) over the next year, to calculate how sustainable (or not) their lifestyles are.

Through close mentoring and support by the Community Eco-Challenge team, the groups will be encouraged to make simple lifestyle changes in order to move towards a way of life which reduces their impact on the natural world.

The 5 participating groups will look at the four “big hitters” in the NI ecological footprint –

FOOD TRANSPORT ENERGY WASTE

Anne & Lynn from the Community Eco-Challenge
will be encouraging households to move
to a one planet lifestyle.

“One of the big parts of this project is to show people that being more environmentally-friendly is easy, can be good for your health and good for your bank balance. Decisions taken every day on how warm we keep our homes, the type of food we buy, how we travel and whether we reduce, reuse or recycle our waste have an impact on the environment,” said Anne Greene, Senior Project Officer.
