FOOD
The vast majority of us probably never stop to think where our food comes from. In actual fact, what we eat is one of the biggest influences on our Ecological Footprint.

You are probably wondering how on earth what you eat impacts on the environment!  Have a look below:

Everything we eat, whether it is fresh fruit or something processed, it or the ingredients for it, have to be grown or grazed. This uses up valuable land – over 40% of the earths surfaceis used for agriculture.

Over the last 50 years, farming has changed a lot. It now uses
much more machinery, chemicals, and energy. This intensive farming can cause great environmental and health problems.

Food, Glorious food!
At first it seems difficult to see how we can improve our ‘food footprint’, but by having a look at what we put in our trolleys when at the supermarket, it is quite simple to make a few alterations, which will help to improve the impact our eating has on the world!
