Community ECO-Challenge is managed by Southern Group Environmental Health Committee
in partnership with WWF Northern Ireland, and supported by the Department of the
Environment (financed from the Secretary of State’s Environment and Renewable Energy Fund).

The Southern Group Environmental Health Committee provides professional environmental
health services to the 5 members of the Southern Group of councils namely:ArmaghCity
and District Council, Craigavon Borough Council, Banbridge District Council, Dungannon
and South Tyrone Borough Council and Newry and Mourne District Council.

WWF Northern Ireland, part of WWF-UK and based in Carrickfergus, works on issues from a uniquely
Northern Irish perspective.
It focuses on policy work and lobbying to ensure that environmental and sustainability issues remain high on the local political and media agendas.

The Department of the Environment is one of 11 Northern Ireland Departments. Its aim is to improve
the quality of life for everyone in Northern Ireland.
